What should we do?

Authors note:  We have been talking about if the U.S should drill in Alaska and we have to do a research essay about it. So i used it for language arts too. please leave a comment and tell me how i did and what kind of grade i should get.

ANWR

Imagine yourself as a bear living in a peace and quiet home it just you, your mom, your dad and your brother. You are in your cave in a deep sleep to wake up to see this humongous well getting drill right next to your cave. The noise wakes up your family and it’s still the middle of winter. I think that the U.S. should not drill in Alaska for oil because it is not necessary and it will hurt the environment.

If we don’t drill our life won’t change dramatically. It is predicted that the oil price will only get bad for about a month, and then slowly decrees. The price of oil may get up to 4 dollars but it is not predicted to get any worse. So why burn through one of America’s final oil supply when it is not needed.

If we drill in Alaska do you know what will be left behind? We will leave behind: sewage slug, scrap metal, garbage, and about 60 contaminated waste sites. The worst part is that they will all be spread out which give all the waste a greater chance to hurt some of the animals. Also think of what would happen if there was an oil spill.

Did you know that it has taken “between” 50-300 million years for oil to form? Also the world goes through about 85 million gallons a day or 40,000 gallons per second and the demand is growing. We have managed to burn roughly half of all global oil reserves in merely 125 years or so.

This is getting out of hand. That’s why we shouldn’t drill in Alaska because it is not necessary and will hurt the environment. So help us get the law denied by telling them what you think.
