note: After reading book
after book I finally came across a book where I could not put it down. I read
for a specific purpose of following the characters growth. Please leave a
comment to let me know how I did.
Bystander
Imagine
moving from one part of the country to the complete opposite. No family or
friends live even remotely close to you. Going to school hoping that would make
friends easily but knowing you won’t. After that first day you know that you
are going to a school with tons of mean and excluding kids. James Preller the author of Bystander definitely
got his point across that bulling should end right now!
Bullying
can happen anywhere like face-to-face, by text messages or on the web. It’s not
limited by age, gender, or education level. It’s not a phase and it’s not a
joke. It’s not just “messing around.”Bullying can cause lasting harm that can
and will last through out their life. This happens throughout the book to the
main character in the greatest extent.
Did you
know that 8,824,833 kids are involved in bulling? On top of that there is more
than one half of 8million are the victims. If this happened to you what would
you do? Would you tell a friend or maybe a parent? But we all know where that
leads. It makes it worst. They don’t know when to stop, even if they get
grounded or suspended. In the story the biggest bully in his school gets
expelled which made everything a whole lot worst. He broke into his house and
stole from him.
This book
ties into real life in so many ways. Between
all the gossip and real life trouble I felt like the book was made off of some
of my life. This book is a lot like the story “Beauty and the Beast.” How
everyone is judging that one person that no one really knows.
You
shouldn’t read this book because I said that it’s a good book. You should read
it because of the reality of the story and the intense story line. Bullying is
not ok it should end now!
