To Bulid a Fire

Symbolism
By Alex Goodyear & Ryan Beattie & Brandon Berg

To build a fire page 1 “The day had broken cold and gray…” This makes me think that something bad is going to happen.

To build a fire page.1 “That cheerful orb, would just peep above the skyline” This makes me think that he’s happy to see the sun

To build a fire page 3 “55 degrees below zero” This makes me feel like that even though his body is freezing he’s content that he is still alive.

To build a fire page.5” The dog has learned fire” This makes me feel that he has made a connection with the dog even as he’s dying he’s still ring to save the dog.

To build a fire page 17 “There was the fire, snapping and crackling and promising life with every dancing flame.” This makes me think that he will survive. That he won’t freeze. This is kind of a symbol of hope to him and me.

To build a fire page 20-21 “The dead fingers could neither touch nor clutch” this tell me that he is going to die. He can no longer make fire. Now he is stranded in the arctic alone and just lost the felling in his figures.

To build a fire page 22 “There was no wind to blow them out” that reminded me when I tried to start a fire and the wind blow it out every time I tried to start a fire.

To build a fire page 23 “The blazing matches fell sizzling into the snow” that reminded me when I spit in a fire It will sizzle.
